Institute for Liturgical Consultants
The Institute for Liturgical Consultants prepares participants to serve as
consultants for the building or renovation of places of worship. Those who apply
should have a professional background in art, architecture, or liturgy. The
Institute is co-sponsored by Catholic Theological Union and the Chicago
Archdiocesan Office for Divine Worship and Liturgy Training
Publications.
Participants meet for a three-week intensive study during
two consecutive summers. The following academic year, after completing the
intensive study, they enroll in a program of independent study tailored to meet
their individual needs. Institute participants also attend one mid-year
conference each year and serve an apprenticeship with a practicing liturgical
consultant during their second year in the program. The Institute enrolls a new
group of participants every third year (2006, 2009).
